The International Union of Operating Engineers recently opened a new national training center near Houston, Texas. The International Training and Conference Center (ITCC) was created to provide members and signatory employers with access to state of the art training facilities and the latest technology used in our trades. A variety of stationary engineer, plant maintenance, and equipment operator classes are now scheduled for 2018. Customized classes can also be designed by the local union and signatory employer to meet specific needs.

The classes and services at the ITCC are open to all Local 420 members at no cost to the member or the employer. Instruction, training materials, airfare, airport transportation, meals, and private lodging on site will all be provided by the IUOE. Members can attend these classes on their own time. In the meantime, the union is working to reach agreement with employers for paid attendance.

A schedule of classes and course descriptions are available for review on the Local 420 web site under the training tab. This information can also be found on the IUOE web site. For more information about the training center, course content or signing up for classes, please contact Mike Weber or Roger Rodriguez at the Local 420 office by calling 414-570-0420.
